We have entries at Uttoxeter for Friday and Sunday with Western Storm and Bella’s Vision.  Looking forward to stepping up in trip with Western Storm and running Bella on better ground.

The horses continue to come in from their holidays looking very well and looking forward to getting them fit for their autumn campaigns.

On Saturday morning it was good to welcome Fairford Goes Racing syndicate, including Daisy who now realises that it is hard to fill the trainer’s boots!

As ever, an excellent article by A Down about James Doyle in today’s Racing Post.  As previously stated, I’ve known the jockey since he was a very young boy and he has always been a first class human being and an excellent jockey.  His ride on the Irish Oaks winner being perfect proof.

Enjoyed last night’s BBC documentary about Bill Shankly.  One of the great football managers and an inspiring individual, whose techniques came naturally to him thanks to his plain upbringing.  His emphasis on team work has had a profound effect on many and no doubt Alex Ferguson and Gareth Southgate would tell you that.

If only we had politicians with such natural enthusiasm.
