Full Time Racing Groom / Work Rider
Richard Phillips Racing is recruiting for a full-time member of staff to join our special team.
The perfect person – is this you?
Our perfect person is very experienced in the horse racing industry and is a fantastic rider of racehorses.
However if you are able to keep two feet in the irons, hold a neck strap and preferably stay on, please do apply as plenty of coaching will be given, as well as further opportunities to develop and learn if you’d like to progress.
Our perfect person looks after their horses with great care and does all usual stable duties to the highest level.
Our perfect person is conscientious, a team player and gets on with what needs doing (rather than hiding in a stable until someone else does.)
Our perfect person has a sense of humour, doesn’t mind a bit of swearing at times, is an excellent cake maker (or at the very least willing to eat cakes).
Alternatively if four legs isn’t your thing but two wheels are, we also have a full-time yard person position available. No sweeping necessary as we have a new super blowing machine (if you can prize it out of Hannah’s hands).
What we can offer:
We have 35 lovely racehorses in residence – with several of them showing immense talent on our fabulous gallops, so there should be lots of winners ahead fingers crossed.
We are a small team, you will be valued and appreciated (as long as you are hardworking) and we will even help you celebrate your birthday!.
Aside from the Saturday ‘Bake Off’ competition and the regular team bonding sessions at the pub, you will not only get every other weekend off but also every other Wednesday afternoon off too!
A fantastic salary and working environment, in a beautiful location.
Rides could possibly potentially be available for the right candidate, but unless you are AP coming out of retirement, you are not likely to replace the ‘Champ’ Dickie Johnson or our resident Danny ‘The Biscuit’ Hiskett, so you will have to get in the queue.
We also have onsite accommodation if required.
People pay millions of pounds to live and have holidays to this beautiful area in the Cotswolds – you could live here, work at this amazing place and earn excellent money in the process!
We also offer the chance to bring your own dog to join the current security pack, Beanie, Reuben and Bertie. You could even bring your own horse…..
Adlestrop Stables is a fantastic place to work but don’t take our word for it – we have two stars in the Lycetts Team Champion Award and are odds on to get three this year.
So if you can ride racehorses, have a sense of humour, are happy to roll your sleeves up and work hard and are not offended by the occasional swearing, please do be in touch.
P.S. If we don’t find anyone soon, Richard is threatening to dig out his boots and show us how he would have been the greatest jockey that ever lived if it wasn’t for his big bones!
Love Team Adlestrop.
Please contact us with details of your previous experience, if you would like to join our fun, friendly team.
