Sheelbe declared for Towcester

Sheelbewhatsheelbe is declared tomorrow in the 4.35pm at Towcester.  The ground will be pretty testing but she has run in similar before.  She travelled well last time out before stopping rather quickly in her first try over three miles, so we are dropping back in trip.

She has stayed on well over 2 ½ in the past and let’s hope the Towcester hill plays to her strengths.  Danny Hiskett rides and claims five.

A busy schooling and work morning and we have some entries for next week if ground conditions suit.

Interestingly research has demonstrated there is no real difference in using a male or female jockey.  In other equine disciplines such as show jumping and eventing there is certainly no prejudice.

Thanks to the success of Josephine Gordon on the flat and Bryony Frost over jumps, we are seeing female riders winning some of the sport’s top prizes and this can only be good for racing.

Pricewise today goes through the RSA Chase.  If the ground came up soft, Ballyoptic at 33-1 is a big price and looks a National type for the future.  He along with Tizzard’s Elegant Escape, has been running well in novice chases this year and both look value each-way bets.
