Muthabir & Beautiful People

Muthabir once again ran a consistent race at Uttoxeter yesterday.  He was beaten 8 lengths by the winner into fourth on ground that was softer than ideal.

He jumped very well but tends not to travel as well on that sort of going and hopefully we will find a suitable race again for him soon.  Being a consistent horse, the handicapper tends not to drop him but hopefully he will be reassessed to a competitive mark soon.

Mo continues to give The Adlestrop Experience some great days out and we look forward to him winning before the year is out.

Beautiful People was hampered at a critical time at Fontwell on Saturday.  She was unable to quicken with them but stayed on well up the straight, confirming that she definitely needs a trip.  Having had a soft palate operation, we are keen to find as good a ground as possible for her and will ride her more prominently next time now that she has proved she stays so well.

On Friday we had my old school annual golf day at West Byfleet, where St Andrews at Leatherhead’s old boys play our old sports teachers Eric Doherty and Chris Wilson.

Once again Chris Wilson was victorious by some margin, helped by Phillips having an interrupted preparation over the summer.

After golf, we have our annual Indian meal where we are joined by other poor sods that used to have to teach us.  As we pointed out on Friday, I wonder how many of today’s pupils will be meeting up with their former teachers 35 years later.
