A great run from Master Vintage
Master Vintage ran a cracker at Doncaster on Saturday. Making the running until two out, he rallied gamely after the last and would have got back up and beaten the idling winner with another fifty yards.
He jumped well under a fine ride from Danny Hiskett and hopefully the handicapper will give him a chance of getting his head back in front this season. He is as tough as teak and is giving The Adlestrop Club some great excitement.
Celestial Magic ran another game race finishing fourth not beaten far by the winning favourite and having to give him and others two stone. But for one of the leaders falling three out and causing Celestial Magic to nimbly avoid him, he would have finished closer.
Poor old Celestial Magic is too consistent for his own good but hopefully will be able to take advantage of the soft ground over the coming weeks.
The string are in fine form and it’s a shame we can’t run Bella’s Vision tomorrow due to a foot infection.
I had an enjoyable day at Cocklebarrow point to point yesterday, where I was race day presenter thanks to the very persuasive Charlie Brooks. Great to see so many people supporting the day and a good time was had by all thanks to the clement weather.
Charlie has written a very brave piece in the Telegraph today and I recommend all to read it. Many trainers will identify with his thoughts.
